Chevremont’s art curation and advising for film and television has played an instrumental role in celebrated productions, such as Empire, Severance, And Just Like That… and Netflix’s Leave The World Behind, among others.
Empire
Chevremont broke into the world of television and film curation with Empire, where she included work from prominent artists Dawoud Bey, Ebony G Patterson, Toyin Ojih Odutola and Barkley L Hendricks. In the show’s penultimate season, she brought on Derrick Adams, whose commissioned portrait of characters Lucious and Cookie Lyon became a central plot point. Chevremont worked with the producers to create video profiles of the artists for Empire’s platforms, giving viewers an inside look into the show’s curation.

Leave the World BehindChevremont’s curation played a key role in the Sam Esmail-directed Netflix film Leave the World Behind. Tension builds when Julia Roberts learns the vacation home she is renting is owned by a Black man (Mahershala Ali). Chevremont’s clever curation of abstract works by artists of color foreshadows and grounds this plot development.

And Just Like That... Chevremont collaborated with writer Keli Goff to feature artists Derrick Adams, Barkley L Hendricks, Deborah Roberts and Carrie Mae Weems in season one episode four. She worked closely with the Gordon Parks Foundation to include a framed original of the artist’s iconic work Department Store, Mobile, Alabama, 1956.
